WiFi (Wireless Fidelity)
Certain types of wireless local area networks (WLAN) that use specifications in the 802.11 family. The range for Wi-Fi is typically around 100 to 300 feet indoors and 2,000 feet outdoors.
WiMax
The name popular name of the 802.16 wireless network standard which will make broadband network access widely available without the expense of stringing wireless/ cables.

Wireless Application Protocol (WAP)
A standard communications protocol used for wireless devices. Mobile phones and radio transceivers use WAP for Internet access, e-mail, newsgroups and other information specially formatted for wireless devices.
Wireless Carrier
A company that provides wireless telecommunications services.

Wireless Web
The wireless Web refers to use of the World Wide Web through a wireless device, such as a wireless phone or PDA.

WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network)
Where a mobile user can connect to a local area network though a wireless radio connection.
