Screensaver
Pictures or words that appear on the screen of a PC, PDA or phone when the device is powered on, but is sitting idle.

Serial
A type of connection between a PC and another device.

Shortcut Key
Enables, 1-buttom, shortcut access to a feature.

SMS (Short Message Service)
A feature that allows users to send and receive short text messages.
Smartphone
A mobile phone combined with special computer-enabled and PDA features not previously associated with phones. Features include access to wireless email and the web, ability to function as a fax/modem and Graffiti style data entry as well as the ability to synchronize the phone and a PC.

Speakerphone
Enables you to receive calls hands-free or conduct conference calls without physically holding the phone to your ear.
Standby Time
The length of time a fully charged wireless phone can remain powered on and idle, without placing or receiving any calls.

Synchronization
The process of transferring data, documents and applications between two devices. Many Kyocera phones can be synchronized with a PC to load or back up contact data, schedules, and other information.
